11/1/16 - NSF program director to discuss Graduate Research Fellowship Program on Wednesday

Victor Piotrowski, program director in the Division of Graduate Education at the National Science Foundation, will visit Mississippi State and speak to students and advisors about the Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) on Wednesday [Nov. 2] from 1-2 p.m. in the McCain Building, Dunn Conference Room.

Piotrowski will provide information about how students can prepare for applying for the GRFP, preparing the application, and the impact of GRFP on future careers. Additional discussion will focus on strategies to persuade review panelists and program officers to fund your proposal — reviewers want to know what the research will accomplish, how you're going to do it, how it's different from other research, and why it's important — and the relevance of the project components — research question, methodology, position within the field of existing research, and major significance — and then present them.
