3/25/14 - 'How to Write a Competitive NSF CAREER Proposal' session on tap Thursday

Please join the Office of Research and Economic Development at Mississippi State University for "How to Write a Competitive NSF CAREER Proposal" on Thursday [March 27] from 3-4 p.m. in the Bost Extension Center theater.

The National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, supports junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organization.

The seminar will provide tips about how to structure a successful CAREER proposal. Unlike most grant programs, CAREER requires a focused integration of educational and research activities that advance the applicant's career in addition to producing innovative scholarship. This session will provide suggestions on how to succeed in the competition from a past recipient, Suzanne Shontz, an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at MSU.
