College of Education's Annual Award Ceremony

About this event

The College of Education will host its annual awards ceremony. Awards include:

The Cindy Rose Teaching Award will be awarded to the faculty member whose teaching during the last three-year period has had the most significant impact on his/her students.  Student evaluations, peer evaluations, and other supporting evidence will be considered.

The Clyde Muse Service Award will be presented to the faculty member whose service to the public school system, university community, and professional organizations has brought acclaim and recognition to the College of Education during the last three-year period.  

The Herb Handley Research Award will be awarded to the faculty member whose research and publications have brought significant acclaim to the College of Education during the last three-year period.  Presentations, publications, and grants will be considered.

The Donnie Prisock Diversity Award will be presented to a faculty or staff member whose commitment to diversity is evident in teaching, research, and/or service. The individual will have a proven record of (1) developing and maintaining an environment that welcomes diversity in the university, college, or academic department; or (2) recruiting and retaining diverse faculty members, staff, and students; or (3) infusing issues about diversity into course curricula and creating an atmosphere that encourages diversity. 

The Betty Purvis Staff Award will be presented to the staff member whose service to the university exemplifies professionalism and dedication to the College of Education and demonstrates outstanding accomplishments based on initiative, cooperation, and a high degree of competence and expertise during the last three-year period.
